cpeDnsSecondAddress

Module: CPE-DSL-MIB

OID (symbolic): CPE-DSL-MIB::cpeDnsSecondAddress

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.16972.2.7.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: IpAddress

Access: read-write

Description: the secondary DNS IP address

What is cpeDnsSecondAddress?

This read-write IpAddress object holds the secondary DNS server address, used as a fallback if the primary resolver is unreachable. An admin sets it to a different resolver than cpeDnsPrimaryAddress so name resolution keeps working if one DNS server goes down. For example, an ISP points cpeDnsSecondAddress at a resolver in a different data center than the primary for redundancy.
