csUnchanDs3ConfigLoopbackType
Module: COSINE-ORION-MIB
OID (symbolic): COSINE-ORION-MIB::csUnchanDs3ConfigLoopbackType
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.3085.3.1.3.2.10.1.21
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: This object represents the desired loopback configuration of the DS3 interface.
The values mean: noLoop Not in the loopback state. A device that is not capable of performing a loopback on the interface shall always return this as its value.
lineLoop The received signal at this interface does not go through the device (minimum penetration) but is looped back out.
otherLoop Loopbacks that are not defined here. Currently not used in the IPSX system.
inwardLoop The sent signal at this interface is looped back through the device.
dualLoop Both lineLoop and inwardLoop will be active simultaneously.
What is csUnchanDs3ConfigLoopbackType?
csUnchanDs3ConfigLoopbackType is a read-write setting specifying the desired loopback mode for this DS3 interface, ranging from noLoop (normal operation) through lineLoop, otherLoop, inwardLoop, and dualLoop for various depths of test loopback. Putting an interface into a loopback mode is a standard diagnostic step that isolates whether a fault is on the local equipment, the local line, or further out, without involving the far end at all. For example, a technician suspecting a bad local line card sets csUnchanDs3ConfigLoopbackType to inwardLoop to loop the signal back inside the device itself, isolating whether the fault is internal before blaming the cable plant.
