Description: This variable indicates the Line Status of the interface. It contains loopback state information and failure state information. The csUnchanDs3ConfigLineStatus is a bit map represented as a sum, therefore, it can represent multiple failures and a loopback (see csUnchanDs3ConfigLoopbackStatus object for the type of loopback) simultaneously. The ds3NoAlarm must be set if and only if no other flag is set. If the ds3LoopbackState bit is set, the loopback in effect can be determined from the csUnchanDs3ConfigLoopbackStatus object. What is csUnchanDs3ConfigLineStatus?

csUnchanDs3ConfigLineStatus is a read-only bitmap value, encoded as a sum, reporting the DS3 interface's line status, combining loopback-state flags with alarm and failure-state flags, where the no-alarm bit is set only when nothing else is. Because failures and an active loopback can both be flagged at once, an admin monitoring this object needs to decode the sum to distinguish a real alarm from a test loopback, which is exactly the ambiguity that causes false outage reports. For example, seeing this object jump from the no-alarm value to a nonzero sum right after a cable was unplugged for maintenance tells an admin the alarm bits correspond to that expected disconnection rather than a surprise fault.
