This read-only counter tallies the number of RSVP Path Error messages received on this interface, which report a problem processing a PATH message somewhere along the path back toward the sender. A rising csRsvpIfPathErrIn count is a direct signal to an administrator that something is going wrong with path setup for one or more sessions traversing this interface. For example, a sudden increase in csRsvpIfPathErrIn after a bandwidth reservation policy change would suggest new sessions are failing admission control downstream.
