Choosing doNotAdvertiseMatching is how an admin hides a range of internal subnets from the rest of the OSPF domain rather than summarizing them. An admin wanting to keep a block of lab subnets entirely invisible outside their area would set this to doNotAdvertiseMatching rather than letting them be summarized and advertised.
