Description: The number of times TCP connections have made a direct transition to the CLOSED state from either the SYN-SENT state or the SYN-RCVD state, plus the number of times TCP connections have made a direct transition to the LISTEN state from the SYN-RCVD state.
What is csOrionVPNVRouterTcpAttemptFails?
This counter counts TCP connection attempts on this virtual router that failed, specifically transitions to CLOSED from SYN-SENT or SYN-RCVD plus transitions to LISTEN from SYN-RCVD. A rising count indicates connection attempts are being actively refused or timing out, which an admin would investigate as a sign of an unreachable peer, closed port, or firewall interference. For example, a spike in csOrionVPNVRouterTcpAttemptFails coincides with an admin's failed attempts to establish a new BGP session to a neighbor whose port was blocked by an upstream ACL.
