Module: COSINE-ORION-MIB

OID (symbolic): COSINE-ORION-MIB::csOrionTraceRouteResultMplsLabelStackInfo

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.3085.3.1.4.2.1.4.2.1.7

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: OCTET STRING

Access: read-only

Description: Returns mpls label stack information that was encoded in the icmp error message. The values returned in this string are formatted to include mpls-label, exp-bits, s-bit, and ttl values for the entire label stack. If the router generating icmp message does not support icmp extensions for mpls, then this string will not contain any information (null string)

What is csOrionTraceRouteResultMplsLabelStackInfo?

This read-only string returns MPLS label-stack information, including label, exp-bits, s-bit, and TTL values for the entire stack, that was encoded in the ICMP error message returned by this hop; it comes back as a null string if the responding router does not support ICMP MPLS extensions. An admin examines it to see whether this hop is an MPLS label-switched router and, if so, what label the traceroute probe was carrying at that point. For example, a populated csOrionTraceRouteResultMplsLabelStackInfo at an intermediate hop confirms the path traverses an MPLS core rather than staying purely IP-routed at that point.
