csOrionL2tpSessionFlowControl

Module: COSINE-ORION-MIB

OID (symbolic): COSINE-ORION-MIB::csOrionL2tpSessionFlowControl

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.3085.3.1.6.13.3.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: This object will be used to control whether the peer will be requested to flow control its transmissions. Note that regardless of the setting, if the peer requests that this peer flow control its transmissions, that request will be honored. Session Flow Control was part of draft specifications but not part of the RFC. This object should be set to Enable only if all the peers are using draft implementations.

What is csOrionL2tpSessionFlowControl?

This read-only INTEGER (enable/disable) shows whether this device will ask the L2TP peer to flow-control its transmissions on this session, noting that any flow-control request the peer itself makes is honored regardless of this setting, and that this draft-era feature should only be enabled if all peers use compatible draft implementations. Checking it tells an operator whether a legacy, pre-RFC L2TP stack on the peer side is expected to be throttled by this device. Seeing enable(1) on a session to an older LAC explains why that session's receive window behavior differs from RFC-compliant peers.
