Module: COSINE-ORION-MIB

OID (symbolic): COSINE-ORION-MIB::csOrionL2tpConfigTunnelMaxRetransmissionTimeout

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.3085.3.1.6.13.1.1.7

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-write

Description: This object defines the maximum retransmission timeout interval in seconds which the tunnel will wait before retransmitting a control packet that has not been acknowledged.

What is csOrionL2tpConfigTunnelMaxRetransmissionTimeout?

This read-write Integer32 (10-30 seconds) sets the maximum interval the tunnel will wait before retransmitting an unacknowledged control packet. An admin raises this toward the upper end of its range for tunnel peers reachable only over higher-latency paths, to avoid retransmitting before an acknowledgement could reasonably have arrived. For example, a tunnel to a peer across a long-haul WAN link might need this maximum retransmission timeout set closer to 30 seconds to accommodate the extra round-trip delay.
