csOrionL2tpConfigTunnelAuthentication
Module: COSINE-ORION-MIB
OID (symbolic): COSINE-ORION-MIB::csOrionL2tpConfigTunnelAuthentication
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.3085.3.1.6.13.1.1.4
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: This object controls the tunnel authentication. If set to Enable, a challenge will be sent to the peer during tunnel creation. The tunnel will be torn down if the peer does not send a valid response. Regardless of the setting, if the peer sends a challenge during tunnel creation, a response will be sent.
What is csOrionL2tpConfigTunnelAuthentication?
This read-write enable/disable object controls whether this device challenges the L2TP tunnel peer during tunnel creation and tears the tunnel down if the peer fails to respond validly, while regardless of this setting the device will always respond if the peer itself sends a challenge. An admin enables this to prevent unauthorized or misconfigured peers from establishing tunnels to this device. For example, enabling tunnel authentication ensures that only a peer possessing the shared secret can successfully bring up an L2TP tunnel, rejecting connection attempts from unrecognized devices.
