csOrionL2tpConfigSessionFlowControl
Module: COSINE-ORION-MIB
OID (symbolic): COSINE-ORION-MIB::csOrionL2tpConfigSessionFlowControl
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.3085.3.1.6.13.1.1.10
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: This object will be used to control whether the peer will be requested to flow control its transmissions. Note that regardless of the setting, if the peer requests that this peer flow control its transmissions, that request will be honored. Session Flow Control was part of draft specifications but not part of the RFC. This object should be set to Enable only if all the peers are using draft implementations.
What is csOrionL2tpConfigSessionFlowControl?
This read-write enable/disable object controls whether this device requests the tunnel peer to flow control its transmissions on a per-session basis, noting this feature was part of draft L2TP specifications rather than the final RFC and should only be enabled if all peers use draft-compliant implementations, and regardless of setting, a peer's own flow-control request is always honored. An admin enables this only in a controlled environment where every L2TP peer is known to be running compatible draft-era software. For example, mixing this enabled with a fully RFC-compliant peer that doesn't understand the draft flow-control mechanism could cause interoperability problems, so an admin would leave it disabled in a standard mixed-vendor deployment.
