csOc3SectionCurrentStatus
Module: COSINE-ORION-MIB
OID (symbolic): COSINE-ORION-MIB::csOc3SectionCurrentStatus
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.3085.3.1.3.3.2.1.1.1
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: Integer32
Access: read-only
Description: This variable indicates the status of the interface. The sonetSectionCurrentStatus is a bit map represented as a sum, therefore, it can represent multiple defects simultaneously. The csOc3SectionNoDefect should be set if and only if no other flag is set.
The various bit positions are: 1 csOc3SectionNoDefect 2 csOc3SectionLOS 4 csOc3SectionLOF
What is csOc3SectionCurrentStatus?
csOc3SectionCurrentStatus is a read-only bitmap value, encoded as a sum of bit positions such as csOc3SectionNoDefect, csOc3SectionLOS, and csOc3SectionLOF, reporting the current defect status of the SONET/SDH Section layer on this OC3 port, capable of flagging multiple simultaneous defects. Because Loss of Signal and Loss of Frame are both Section-layer defects that can be flagged together, an admin needs to decode the sum rather than treat it as a single simple status to understand exactly what's wrong with the optical signal right now. For example, if this object reports a sum indicating both the LOS and LOF bits are set, an admin knows the port has no usable optical signal at all rather than a subtler framing-only problem, pointing straight at a fiber or transceiver issue.
