csOc3FarEndPerfMonControl is a read-write enable/disable switch that mirrors csOc3NearEndPerfMonControl but for far-end performance monitoring, turning collection of far-end SONET/SDH error statistics on or off for this OC3 port (its source description was also left blank). Far-end performance data lets an admin see the far side's error picture without needing separate access to that equipment, valuable when the two ends of a leased OC3 circuit are managed by different organizations. For example, a service provider monitoring a customer's OC3 hand-off would keep csOc3FarEndPerfMonControl enabled so they can see the customer-side error counters without requesting access to the customer's own management system.
