What is csOc3AtmCurrentIdleCells?
csOc3AtmCurrentIdleCells is a read-only 64-bit counter of the number of ATM idle, or filler, cells seen on this OC3 port's ATM interface in the current measurement period, sent when there's no real payload to carry. A high idle-cell count relative to transmitted or received payload cells is normal and simply reflects available spare capacity, but an admin can use the ratio between idle and real cells as a rough utilization gauge for the ATM link. For example, if csOc3AtmCurrentIdleCells drops sharply while csOc3AtmCurrentTransmittedCells rises at the same time, an admin can tell the ATM link's utilization just increased significantly, since real payload cells are displacing idle filler.
