Description: Force protection switch. When set to 'forceToSwitch' it switches the active port between the two internal ports indicated by csOc3ApsActivePort object. NOTE: This is an action object. Read operation returns 'none'.

What is csOc3ApsForce?

csOc3ApsForce is a read-write action object that, when set to forceToSwitch, manually forces Automatic Protection Switching to flip the active port between the two internal ports named by csOc3ApsActivePort, and always reads back as none since it represents an action rather than a stored state. This gives an admin a manual override to test or force a protection switch on demand, rather than waiting for APS to trigger automatically on a real fault, useful for verifying that failover actually works before it's needed in an emergency. For example, during a planned maintenance test an admin sets csOc3ApsForce to forceToSwitch to confirm traffic really does move to the protect fiber, then checks csOc3ApsActivePort to verify which port became active.
