Description: The maximum number of area addresses to be permitted for the area in which this instance exists. Note that all Intermediate Systems in the same area must have the same value configured for this attribute if correct operation is to be assumed. This object follows the replaceOnlyWhileDisabled behaviour.
What is csIsisSysMaxAreaAddresses?
This object sets the maximum number of area addresses permitted for the area this instance exists in, and the MIB notes all Intermediate Systems in the same area must be configured with the same value for correct operation. Administrators must coordinate this setting across every router in an area, since a mismatch causes the csIsisSysMaxAreaAddrMismatches counter to increment on adjacent routers. For example, an engineer standardizes csIsisSysMaxAreaAddresses at 3 across every IS-IS router in an area supporting a phased address-plan migration with multiple simultaneous area addresses.
