Description: The value to be used as the Authentication Key in Level 2 Link State Packets whenever the value of csIsisSysAuthDomainType has a value of plaintext. A modification of csIsisSysAuthDomainType does not modify the csIsisSysAuthDomainTransPwd value.
Reading this object always results in an OCTET STRING of length zero; authentication may not be bypassed by reading the MIB object.
What is csIsisSysAuthDomainTransPwd?
This object holds the authentication key used in Level 2 Link State Packets when csIsisSysAuthDomainType is plaintext, always reading back as zero-length so it can't be retrieved via SNMP. Administrators set this shared backbone-level secret to match what other Level 2 routers use. For example, an engineer configures csIsisSysAuthDomainTransPwd with the same value used by all other backbone routers, ensuring this virtual router's Level 2 LSPs are accepted rather than rejected as unauthenticated.
