What is csIsisCircIPEncaps?
This read-create boolean determines whether this router encapsulates IS-IS PDUs inside IP packets on this circuit rather than sending them directly over the native data-link layer. It matters on media or topologies where native OSI-style framing of IS-IS is not supported or convenient, letting IS-IS traffic ride over an IP-only transport instead. An administrator running IS-IS over a GRE or other IP tunnel interface would set csIsisCircIPEncaps to true so IS-IS hellos and LSPs are carried inside IP datagrams across the tunnel.
