This object sets the maximum response time, in tenths of a second, advertised in IGMPv2 queries sent on this interface, which tells hosts the window within which they must reply. Administrators can lower this value to make membership-report timing more predictable and detect departed group members faster, at the cost of a burst of simultaneous host responses. For example, reducing this from the default down to 5 tenths of a second on a busy multicast segment would tighten how quickly the router expects host replies.
