What is csIgmpInterfaceJoins?

This counter tracks how many times a new group membership has been added to the Cache Table for this interface, i.e., the number of times a new multicast group join was recorded over the life of the entry. Administrators use it as a rough gauge of IGMP join activity, useful for spotting unusually high churn suggesting flapping receivers or a misbehaving application. For example, a sudden spike in this counter on an interface serving a video distribution network might indicate set-top boxes repeatedly rejoining a channel due to an upstream problem.
