This RowStatus object enables an access group configuration on the interface when activated, and disables it when the row is destroyed, controlling which multicast groups hosts on that interface are permitted to join. Administrators use it to restrict multicast access, for instance blocking subscribers from joining unauthorized channels. For example, an ISP might activate an access-group entry that denies joins to a premium content group on interfaces belonging to customers who haven't paid for that tier.
