Description: This variable states the address length in octets. In the case of Q922 format, the length indicates the entire length of the address including the control portion.

What is csFrDlcmiAddressLen?

csFrDlcmiAddressLen is a read-only enumerated value reporting the Frame Relay address length in octets, two, three, or four, currently used on this interface, where for Q.922 format the length includes the control portion. Address length directly affects how many bits are available for the DLCI value, so an admin comparing this against the number of PVCs actually needed can confirm the addressing scheme has enough room, especially on interfaces with many circuits. For example, if a site needs to support DLCI values beyond what a two-octet address can encode, an admin would check that csFrDlcmiAddressLen reports threeOctets or fourOctets rather than assuming the default is sufficient.
