Description: Number of frames received from the network indicating forward congestion since the virtual circuit was created. This occurs when the remote DTE sets the FECN flag, or when a switch in the network enqueues the frame to a trunk whose transmission queue is congested.
What is csFrCircuitReceivedFECNs?
This Counter32 tracks the number of frames received from the network on this virtual circuit that carried the Forward Explicit Congestion Notification (FECN) flag, counted since the VC was created. An admin watches this counter to detect forward-direction congestion being reported by the remote DTE or by an overloaded trunk in the carrier's network. For example, a steadily climbing FECN count on a VC to a data-center branch would tell the admin that traffic heading toward that site is running into a congested queue somewhere upstream.
