Description: Number of frames received from the network indicating that they were eligible for discard since the virtual circuit was created. This occurs when the remote DTE sets the DE flag, or when in remote DTE's switch detects that the frame was received as Excess Burst data.

What is csFrCircuitReceivedDEs?

This Counter32 counts frames received from the network on this virtual circuit that were marked Discard Eligible, which happens when the remote DTE sets the DE flag or the remote switch detects the frame was sent as Excess Burst data. An admin uses it to see how much of the inbound traffic on this DLCI is running above the committed rate and thus vulnerable to being dropped under congestion. For example, a VC showing a high csFrCircuitReceivedDEs count alongside frequent csFrCircuitDiscards would suggest the remote site is regularly bursting past its committed rate.
