Description: This variable indicates the maximum amount of uncommitted data bits that the network will attempt to deliver over the measurement interval.

What is csFrCircuitExcessBurst?

This Integer32 (0 to 2147483647) specifies the maximum amount of uncommitted data, in bits, that the network will still attempt to deliver over the measurement interval for this virtual circuit, beyond the committed burst. An admin configures it to define how much best-effort headroom this DLCI gets above its guaranteed rate before frames become discard-eligible. For example, a VC with csFrCircuitExcessBurst set higher than its committed burst gives occasional traffic spikes a chance to get through, marked DE, rather than being dropped outright.
