csDs3ConfigLoopbackStatus

Module: COSINE-ORION-MIB

OID (symbolic): COSINE-ORION-MIB::csDs3ConfigLoopbackStatus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.3085.3.1.3.2.1.1.23

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: This variable represents the current state of the loopback on the DS3 interface. It contains information about loopbacks established by a manager and remotely from the far end.

The csDs3ConfigLoopbackStatus is a bit map represented as a sum, therefore is can represent multiple loopbacks simultaneously.

The various bit positions are: 1 ds3NoLoopback 2 ds3NearEndPayloadLoopback 4 ds3NearEndLineLoopback 8 ds3NearEndOtherLoopback 16 ds3NearEndInwardLoopback 32 ds3FarEndPayloadLoopback 64 ds3FarEndLineLoopback

What is csDs3ConfigLoopbackStatus?

This read-only value is a bitmap reporting which loopbacks, if any, are currently active on the DS3 interface, including ones initiated remotely from the far end. It lets an admin confirm whether a requested loopback actually took effect, or discover that an unexpected loopback from the far end is affecting the circuit. For example, if traffic mysteriously stops flowing, an admin checks csDs3ConfigLoopbackStatus and finds a remote near-end payload loopback bit set, explaining why local test traffic is simply being echoed back.
