Description: This variable describes the variety of Zero Code Suppression used on this interface, which in turn affects a number of its characteristics.
ds3B3ZS and e3HDB3 refer to the use of specified patterns of normal bits and bipolar violations which are used to replace sequences of zero bits of a specified length. NOTE: This is applicable only for E3 for now.
What is csDs3ConfigLineCoding?
This read-write value selects the line coding, or zero-code-suppression scheme, such as B3ZS, HDB3, or NRZ, used on this DS3/E3 interface. It must match the line coding expected by the far-end equipment and the physical medium, or the receiver will misinterpret bit patterns as errors. For example, when provisioning an E3 circuit, an admin sets csDs3ConfigLineCoding to e3HDB3 to match the standard European line coding rather than the DS3-typical B3ZS.
