csAtmConnInArpAgingTime

Module: COSINE-ORION-MIB

OID (symbolic): COSINE-ORION-MIB::csAtmConnInArpAgingTime

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.3085.3.1.3.5.2.1.27

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-write

Description: An instance of this object only exists when the local VCL end-point is also the VCC end-point, and AAL5 Encapsulation type supports LLC-SNAP format. This objects specifies aging time (in minutes) for InARP entries and it takes effect immediately. Also this object is active when IP protocol is enabled on VC

What is csAtmConnInArpAgingTime?

This Integer32 (10 to 60 minutes) exists only when the local VCL endpoint is also the VCC endpoint and AAL5 encapsulation supports LLC-SNAP format, specifying the aging time for Inverse ARP entries, taking effect immediately and only while IP protocol is enabled on the VC. An admin tunes it to control how quickly stale InARP-learned IP mappings are aged out on this circuit. For example, an admin on a VC where the remote router's IP address changes occasionally might lower csAtmConnInArpAgingTime to force faster relearning via InARP.
