corePortType
Module: CORE-MIB
OID (symbolic): CORE-MIB::corePortType
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.629.1.50.9.3.1.3
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-only
Description: ???
What is corePortType?
This read-only INTEGER, whose description is unclear in the source MIB, reports a port's interface type based on its enumerated values: undefined, coreGigaBit, or coreWDM. An admin uses it to distinguish Gigabit Ethernet ports from WDM optical ports on the same card for correct cabling and diagnostics. For example, an admin checks corePortType shows coreWDM(3) before troubleshooting optical light levels rather than copper-cable continuity on that port.
