corePortTotalByteRx

Module: CORE-MIB

OID (symbolic): CORE-MIB::corePortTotalByteRx

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.629.1.50.9.3.1.17

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter

Access: read-only

Description: ???

What is corePortTotalByteRx?

This read-only Counter counts all bytes received on a port, including both good frames and errored or oversized ones, unlike corePortGoodByteRx. An admin uses it to see gross incoming traffic volume regardless of validity, useful for spotting when a large share of arriving traffic is bad. For example, a large gap between corePortTotalByteRx and corePortGoodByteRx signals a high proportion of errored frames arriving on that port.
