Module: CORE-MIB

OID (symbolic): CORE-MIB::corePortLinkStatus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.629.1.50.9.3.1.7

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: LinkStatus

Access: read-only

Description: ???

What is corePortLinkStatus?

This read-only LinkStatus, whose description is unclear in the source MIB, reports whether the physical link on a port is currently up or down based on its object name. An admin uses it as the primary at-a-glance health indicator for spotting a failed port or cable. For example, an admin polls corePortLinkStatus and finds port 3 reporting down, prompting a check of that port's fiber connection.
