copsClientServerConfigRetryCount
Module: COPS-CLIENT-MIB
OID (symbolic): COPS-CLIENT-MIB::copsClientServerConfigRetryCount
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.89.1.3.3
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: Unsigned32
Access: read-write
Description: A retry count for use by the retry algorithm. Each retry algorithm needs to specify how it uses this value.
For the 'sequential(2)' algorithm, this value is the number of times the client should retry to connect to one COPS server before moving on to another. For the 'roundRobin(3)' algorithm, this value is not used.
What is copsClientServerConfigRetryCount?
This read-write Unsigned32 sets a retry count whose meaning depends on the chosen algorithm: under the sequential algorithm it is how many times to retry one server before moving to the next, and it is unused under roundRobin. An admin tunes it to control how persistent the client is with a single PDP before giving up on it. For example, an admin sets copsClientServerConfigRetryCount to 3 under the sequential algorithm so the client tries the primary PDP three times before falling back to the secondary server.
Examples
Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.89.1.3.3 snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> COPS-CLIENT-MIB::copsClientServerConfigRetryCount
Get a specific instance (index 1):
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.89.1.3.3.1 snmpget -v2c -c public <target> COPS-CLIENT-MIB::copsClientServerConfigRetryCount.1
Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):
snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.89.1.3.3.1 i <value>
SNMPv3 example:
snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> copsClientServerConfigRetryCount.1
