What is cmVBridgeNOverflow?

cmVBridgeNOverflow is a read-only integer counting how many MAC addresses the bridge failed to learn because its MAC table was already full. An administrator monitors this to detect when a bridge's capacity is being exceeded, which would prevent legitimate traffic from being forwarded correctly. For example, a nonzero and growing cmVBridgeNOverflow on an interface would prompt the operator to investigate whether an unusually large number of devices are attached behind that connection, exceeding the bridge's table size.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> COPPER-MOUNTAIN-NETWORKS-DSL-MIB::cmVBridgeNOverflow

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1996.20.11.1.1.7.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> COPPER-MOUNTAIN-NETWORKS-DSL-MIB::cmVBridgeNOverflow.1

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> cmVBridgeNOverflow.1
