cmTrapAlarmLogSeverity is a read-write enumeration holding the severity level assigned to a specific alarm-log entry, and unlike its event-log counterpart it can be modified, letting an administrator manually re-classify an alarm's severity. An operator might downgrade a recurring but ultimately benign alarm's severity to keep dashboards focused on genuinely urgent conditions. For example, if a particular alarm type is confirmed to be a known false positive, the operator could set its cmTrapAlarmLogSeverity to information(2) so it no longer trips major-alarm-based notifications.
