cmMaintCmdSecondaryIpAddr

Module: COPPER-MOUNTAIN-NETWORKS-DSL-MIB

OID (symbolic): COPPER-MOUNTAIN-NETWORKS-DSL-MIB::cmMaintCmdSecondaryIpAddr

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1996.20.16.1.1.7

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: IpAddress

Access: read-write

Description: This is the IpAddress of the secondary file server to use in executing the command. If an address of all 0's is entered, no save will be attempted to the secondary and no event will be generated. If a transfer to the primary fails and there is no secondary address configured, the CommandStatus will be 'failed'.

For 'bulkCPEDownload', the value of this object is ignored.

For 'configRestore', the value of this object is ignored.

Default: 0.0.0.0

What is cmMaintCmdSecondaryIpAddr?

cmMaintCmdSecondaryIpAddr is a read-write IP address for a fallback file server that a maintenance command will use if the primary transfer fails, with the description noting the command's status becomes failed if no secondary is configured and the primary fails, and that this field is ignored entirely for bulkCPEDownload and configRestore. An administrator configures a secondary server as a redundancy measure for commands like configBackup, so a single file-server outage doesn't cause a missed backup. For example, if the primary backup server is temporarily unreachable, having cmMaintCmdSecondaryIpAddr set would let the configBackup still succeed against the fallback server instead of reporting failed.
