A read-write enumerated value specifying, for DSL links only, whether the CPE at the far end uses Copper Mountain's Internal Control Protocol, or CMCP, with non-DSL interfaces always returning "no." Enabling this correctly lets the system use CMCP-specific management features against the CPE, such as retrieving its burned-in MAC address, so an admin sets it based on the actual CPE capability. If cmIfaceBurnedInMacAddr always reads blank for a given CPE, the admin would check whether cmIfaceCMCPCompatible is actually set to "yes" for that DSL interface.
