This read-only Counter tracks the number of failed training attempts for the port, starting at zero at power-up and resetting whenever the operator changes the data rate or explicitly sets it to zero. An admin uses a rising count here as a direct sign the line is struggling to establish sync at all. For example, a port showing dozens of failed training attempts with very few successful trains points to a bad copper pair or CPE mismatch rather than an occasional glitch.
