cmIDSLBoardTimingAvailable

Module: COPPER-MOUNTAIN-NETWORKS-DSL-MIB

OID (symbolic): COPPER-MOUNTAIN-NETWORKS-DSL-MIB::cmIDSLBoardTimingAvailable

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1996.20.2.2.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: This value indicates wether or not the IDSL Line Card's timing source is valid. The status values are defined as follows: yes - Indicates that this IDSL Line Card is configured as a Globally Timed Master or Globally Timed Backup, and port #1 on this IDSL Line Card is trained, e.g. it can acquire timing from port #1.

no - Indicates that this IDSL Line Card is configured as a Globally Timed Master or Globally Timed Backup, and Port #1 on this IDSL Line Card is not trained, e.g. it cannot acquire a clock from port 1. A value of no can also indicate that there is no way to determine whether timing is available because this IDSL Line Card is either Locally Timed,Internally Timed, or Globally Timed Slave.

What is cmIDSLBoardTimingAvailable?

cmIDSLBoardTimingAvailable is a read-only yes/no flag that, for an IDSL card configured as a globally timed master or backup, indicates whether port #1 on that card is trained and can actually supply valid timing. An administrator checks this before relying on that card as a network timing source, since a no(1) result means the intended clock reference is not actually usable yet. For example, if a card designated as the globally timed master reports cmIDSLBoardTimingAvailable as no, the operator knows port #1 hasn't trained up and the whole timing chain depending on it is at risk.
