This read-only PerfTotalCount reports the count of receive frames discarded because they exceeded the maximum allowed size, scoped to the DSL port's current, still-accumulating measurement period (not yet rolled into the interval history). Operationally, oversized frames being dropped can point to a misbehaving device upstream sending non-conforming frames onto the DSL link. For example, an admin monitoring this counter live during a suspected device misconfiguration can watch the oversized-frame count rise in real time as the customer generates traffic.
