This read-only PerfTotalCount reports the count of unaligned frames received on the DSL port, scoped to the DSL port's current, still-accumulating measurement period (not yet rolled into the interval history). Operationally, alignment errors mean incoming bits aren't lining up on proper frame boundaries, typically caused by line noise or synchronization problems. For example, polling this counter every few minutes during a live test lets an admin see immediately whether a suspected connector fix stopped the alignment errors from accumulating further.
