Operationally, aborted frames indicate the far end deliberately or accidentally cut a frame short mid-transmission, a sign of link instability. For example, a technician on an active troubleshooting call can watch this counter for aborted frames to confirm, in real time, whether a line reseating attempt actually stopped the aborts.
