This read-only Counter tracks the count of late collisions, i.e. collisions detected outside the normal collision window on the CPE's Ethernet interface, tallied per hourly interval. Operationally, late collisions are a classic symptom of an Ethernet duplex mismatch or an excessively long cable run. For example, an admin who sees out-of-window collisions on a CPE would check whether the customer's switch port and the CPE's Ethernet port are set to matching duplex modes.
