This read-only Counter reports the count of CRC errors the CPE received during the hour, tracked hourly on the CPE side of the DSL link. Operationally, CRC errors reported from the CPE's own DSL interface confirm that data corruption is happening on the customer's end of the loop, not introduced elsewhere. For example, if this CPE-side CRC-error count rises while nothing changed at the head end, an admin would suspect the fault is inside the customer's own equipment or in-house wiring.
