What is sysObjectDescription?
A read-only display string, up to 255 characters, describing what kind of device this controller is. Admins use this free-text identification to distinguish device models or roles when managing a mixed fleet of controllers through a single monitoring system. An admin scanning an inventory report of many controllers would rely on sysObjectDescription to tell at a glance which entries are, for example, hotspot gateways versus captive-portal controllers.
