hpSwitchStpMaxAge

Module: CONFIG-MIB

OID (symbolic): CONFIG-MIB::hpSwitchStpMaxAge

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.5.1.7.1.14.1.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Timeout

Access: read-write

Description: The maximum age of Spanning Tree Protocol information learned from the network on any port before it is discarded, in units of hundredths of a second. This is the actual value that this bridge is currently using.

What is hpSwitchStpMaxAge?

This read-write Timeout value, in hundredths of a second, sets how long STP information learned from the network is kept on any port before being discarded, and reflects the value the bridge is actually using. Admins tune it to control how quickly the spanning tree reacts to stale topology information. For example, an admin troubleshooting slow STP convergence after topology changes would review hpSwitchStpMaxAge to see if it's set unusually high, delaying the discard of outdated information.

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CONFIG-MIB::hpSwitchStpMaxAge

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.5.1.7.1.14.1.1.4.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CONFIG-MIB::hpSwitchStpMaxAge.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.5.1.7.1.14.1.1.4.1 s <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> hpSwitchStpMaxAge.1
