What is hpSwitchIgmpIpMcastState?

This read-write enumeration sets whether IP multicast traffic on the port is snooped (auto), dropped (blocked), or forwarded unexamined (forward). An admin uses it to control how a specific port handles multicast streams, for instance snooping edge ports so only subscribed hosts receive a stream while flooding uplinks that must carry everything. For example, setting this to blocked(2) on a port connected to a non-multicast printer stops stray multicast traffic from ever reaching that device.
