hpSwitchFddiIpFragConfigStatus

Module: CONFIG-MIB

OID (symbolic): CONFIG-MIB::hpSwitchFddiIpFragConfigStatus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.5.1.7.1.11.1.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The operational status of FDDI IP fragmentation for each FDDI card. enable(1): FDDI card will fragment all packets which are bigger then the Ethernet packet size limitation, 1518 Bytes. disable(2): FDDI card will drop all packets which are bigger then the Ethernet packet size limitation, 1518 Bytes.

What is hpSwitchFddiIpFragConfigStatus?

This read-write enumeration controls whether a specific FDDI card fragments (enable(1)) or drops (disable(2)) packets larger than the standard 1518-byte Ethernet frame size limit. Admins enable fragmentation on FDDI cards bridging to Ethernet segments so oversized FDDI frames don't get silently dropped. For example, an admin bridging an FDDI ring to an Ethernet backbone would set hpSwitchFddiIpFragConfigStatus to enable so large FDDI frames get fragmented instead of discarded.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.5.1.7.1.11.1.1.2
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CONFIG-MIB::hpSwitchFddiIpFragConfigStatus

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.5.1.7.1.11.1.1.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CONFIG-MIB::hpSwitchFddiIpFragConfigStatus.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.5.1.7.1.11.1.1.2.1 i <value>
