Description: If this feature is enabled then DHCP packets both ucast and bcast with UDP destination port 68 will be intercepted. DHCP packets with the router option in the options field in the DHCP message will be modified so that the first daddress in the router option is the same as the clients address. Thus the client will be its own default gateway. If this feature is disabled DHCP packtes will be forwarded as usual.
What is hpSwitchABCConfigAutoGatewayConfig?
This read-write enumeration enables or disables automatic default-gateway configuration via DHCP interception; when enabled, the switch rewrites DHCP responses so the router option lists the client's own address, making the client act as its own default gateway. This is a specialized ABC feature admins would enable only in specific topologies relying on that self-gateway trick. For example, an admin running a particular ABC-based routing design where clients need to be their own gateway would enable hpSwitchABCConfigAutoGatewayConfig to make the DHCP rewriting happen automatically.
