Description: Set active(1) to restart the device. Set to notActive(2) has no effect. The device always returns the value notActive(2) when this object is read.
What is systemRebootActive?
This read-write setting, when set to active, immediately restarts the switch; reading it always returns notActive. An admin uses this to remotely reboot a switch via SNMP without needing physical or console access, for example after applying a configuration change that requires a restart. For example, after triggering a factory-default reload on the device, an admin would then set this OID to active to actually reboot the device and apply that change.
