Description: The Aggregator type. You can assign the aggregator staticly by setting to static(1), or setting to lacp(2) to enable the LACP protocol.

The Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP) is required for dynamically exchanging configuration information between the peer devices in order to automatically configure and maintain link aggregation groups. The protocol is able to automatically detect the presence and capabilities of other aggregation capable devices, i.e. with LACP it is possible to specify which links in a system can be aggregated.

This column has no effect if Group Id is set to none.

What is portTrunkAggregatorType?

This read-write setting chooses whether a link-aggregation group is built with a fixed, manually-defined membership (static) or with the Link Aggregation Control Protocol (lacp), which dynamically negotiates and maintains the bundle with the peer device. An admin picks lacp when the aggregation should automatically detect a failed or misconfigured member link rather than silently keep sending traffic to it. For example, setting the uplink trunk to lacp(2) lets the ES8510 negotiate directly with the core switch and automatically pull a bad member link out of service if it stops responding to LACPDUs.
